We’re delighted to welcome Lynn McCheyne Studio of Dance to the Northlight community. With decades of experience in dance education and professional performance, Lynn and her team bring a wealth of knowledge, passion and creativity to Northlight Industries, offering classes for dancers of all ages and abilities.
Lynn McCheyne’s journey began at just four years old, when she first stepped into a dance studio. Her talent and dedication saw her accepted into the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London at the age of 11, before continuing her vocational training at the Northern Ballet School in Manchester. Following her studies, Lynn enjoyed a professional career with London City Ballet, performing at the highest level before establishing her own successful dance school. Today, Lynn leads the studio alongside experienced teachers Amanda Swinburn, Susan Arnott Lee and Jenna Maden, sharing their expertise with the next generation of dancers.

- RAD Children’s Ballet Grades and Major Syllabus Classes
- IDTA Tap and Contemporary Modern Jazz
- Contemporary and Junior Lyrical Classes
- Adult Ballet and Adult Tap
- Limbering and Body Conditioning
- Private and Semi-Private Lessons
- Associate Classes for Grade 3 and Above
- Enhancement Ballet & Tap Classes for Grade 3 and Above
With classes designed to inspire confidence, creativity and technical development, students are supported at every stage of their dance journey.
Early Years Ballet & Tap – Booking Now Open
If your child is ready to discover the joy of dance, bookings are now open for the studio’s popular Early Years Ballet & Tap classes.
Beginners Ballet & Tap
Ages: 3½–5 years
When: Saturdays, 8:30am – 9:15am
First Steps Ballet & Tap
School Years: Year 1 & Year 2
When: Saturdays, 9:15am – 10:00am
Classes commence on Saturday 5th September, offering young dancers a fun, supportive introduction to ballet and tap in a professional learning environment.
